Civic has been working with national facilities management company, BGIS, to complete work across a number of Sydney locations. As part of this partnership, Civic Crews have been trained and supported to provide housekeeping and logistics services. The partnership was recently recognised by the Facility Management Association of Australia (FMA) Industry Awards for Excellence with the Collaborative Partnership Award for 2023.

The collaboration between BGIS and Civic, improves workplace access, participation, and inclusion for people with disability, providing employment opportunities across BGIS’ facilities management services. It is also a valuable example of a Community Based Workplace, which provides opportunities for people with disability to have jobs where they can socially connect with people in a broader workplace.

The Civic Crew model is growing and through working with trusted Australian Businesses, we are continually looking for new opportunities to upskill Crews to work in the community.
