About the Crew
Civic Crew assists organisations to employ people with disability on a short or long-term basis.
Civic Crew was established after employers reported difficulties in hiring and retaining people with disability – but also after identifying that many people with disability want to be more involved with, and work within, their own community.
Employer Benefits
Employers enjoy many benefits from having an inclusive and diverse workforce as well as meeting their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) targets. It helps with staff morale and makes good business sense. While many organisations are keen to employ people with disability, many are wary of the process, or do not know how to even start.
Civic Crew addresses these problems by providing an on-site supervisor, a rotating team and full back-up support. People with disability work within both the host organisation and Civic, but crucially remain Civic employees, continuing to enjoy the social benefits which are an integral part of employment.
