The Cawarra Cafe is usually a go-to spot for staff and participants, but this Easter it became the centre of something extra special. When word spread that homemade hot cross buns were on the menu, excitement quickly filled the space, with plenty of eager anticipation in the lead up.
The supported employees from the cafe put their practical cooking skills to great use, working alongside Cafe Assistant, Cathy, who provided guidance and support every step of the way. From carefully measuring ingredients to mixing and shaping the dough, the group followed the recipe together, building confidence and teamwork as they went.
The smiles on their faces said it all, there was a real sense of pride and joy in creating something from scratch and in sharing the experience together. These special moments, filled with laughter and learning, are ones the group will carry with them well beyond the day.
Before long, the trays were ready for the oven and as the buns baked, the warm, comforting aroma of Easter drifted through the warehouses and up into the office. It was a simple activity but one that brought people together, celebrated new skills and created a shared moment of connection at the Cawarra cafe.
