In November 2025, Michael’s life changed in an instant when he suffered a severe stroke. What followed was a long and challenging journey, including five months in hospital, as both Michael and his family adapted to a new reality.

Before this, Michael shared a busy and fulfilling home life with his wife and their three children. Family has always been at the heart of everything he does, and throughout his recovery, their support never wavered.

As Michael’s hospital stay came to an end, his family began searching for the right place to support his next stage of life, somewhere that would not only meet his care needs but also feel like home. That’s when they discovered a Supported Independent Living (SIL) home that immediately stood out.

From the moment they saw it, they were captivated by the space and its potential. The thoughtful design and peaceful surroundings offered something truly special – a place where Michael could regain independence while staying closely connected to his loved ones.

On May 25th, Michael officially moved in, surrounded by his family and welcomed by a dedicated team of support workers. It marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

One of the standout features of the home is its individual villa setup, which gives Michael something incredibly important, his own private space. It’s a place where he can relax, personalise his environment and most importantly, continue to share meaningful moments with his family.

Now, Michael is looking ahead with optimism. He’s excited to make his villa his own and create a space filled with familiarity, comfort and joy. For him and his family, this SIL home represents more than just a place to live, it’s a place where they can reconnect, rebuild and enjoy quality time together, just as they always have.
