Civic holiday goers recently hit the road for a Get Away Civic Supported Holiday to Batemans Bay. This trip is the first Civic holiday since the program was suspended due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The trip did not disappoint with everyone more than ready to discover everything the picturesque coastal town has to offer. Holiday highlights include visiting Mogo Wildlife Park and taking a cruise on the Clyde River and exploring the historical town of Nelligen.

The crew headed down the coast on February 21st with three days of adventure and fun planned for them in the jam-packed holiday itinerary.

Travelling by bus, everyone enjoyed the drive south, stopping for morning tea and lunch along the way before arriving in Batemans Bay and checking in to the Batemans Bay Marina Resort – their holiday home for the next few days.
Everyone loved the resort, with the crew taking a swim the pool and challenging each other to a game of mini golf, before heading off for dinner at the local Country Club.

The next day they visited Mogo Wildlife Park, where they got to see and meet a wide range of animals, including zebras, meerkats, gorillas, rhinos, tigers and lions.

“Everyone had such a great time, feeding and petting the kangaroos, camels and giraffe was definitely a highlight for many,” said Helen Panigiris, Civic’s Support Holiday Program Manager.

The following day the group took to the sea, heading off aboard the MV Merinda for a relaxing and informative tour of the Clyde River. Afterwards they travelled to Nelligen for a short stop over to visit local historical sites including where the notorious Clarke Brothers bushrangers were held waiting shipment to Sydney. So much history to learn about!

The next day, after a delicious breakfast at the resort the team travelled back home. The bus was abuzz with excited holiday chit chat with everyone talking about their fun adventures and planning for the next one.
